Giants Group of Waluj: two incinerators for women in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar

Menstrual hygiene is not only a campus problem. In May 2023 we took the Techlance incinerator to a community group in Waluj, an industrial area of Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Maharashtra.

What we did

As part of our NIDHI PRAYAS field trials, we placed two Techlance incinerators in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar with the group, so that women could dispose of used napkins on site instead of carrying them to an open bin.

Why it matters

A campus hostel and a community programme are very different sites. Placing machines with a community group, alongside our IIM Sirmaur trial, tested the product beyond a single campus before we moved to production.
